WE WAS A HIT!
Boy did they love us in Hollywood! Me and my older sister did a three night workshop on a brand new play I wrote called DOUBLE-WIDE. Needless to say, it was somethin' else. This was the first time that me and my older sister Donna Sue have done a theatrical show together since we did An Evening With The Boxcar Sister at Las Vegas's O-PM in Caesar's Palace. Now I did manage to get a few photos for those of y'all who couldn't make it to our workshop. Here are just a few of the folks that y'all might know who came out to see me and my sister in Hollywood.
You can't imagine the thrill that me and my sister had when we met in person Ms. Ronnie Claire Edwards. Most of y'all will remember her from playin' Corabeth Godsey on "The Waltons". Me and Donna Sue never missed a show back when it was on TV. I loved the down home style of the program and Donna Sue had a crush on Grandpa. By the way, Ronnie Claire is from Oklahoma City for all my Oklahoma fans.
Speakin' of Oklahoma, another celebrity in the audience durin' our workshop performances was none other than Ms. Sally Struthers who recently played the title role of Dolly Levy in "HELLO DOLLY" at Oklahoma City's very own Lyric Theatre. Click on the photo above for more info on her appearance, which was on July 3-9 run. When we start up our show again in LA I know she'll be right there on the front row.
Start salivatin' all you theatre lovers 'cause yes, that is the one and only Ms. Carole Cook standin' between me and my drunken sister! Talk about your treat! Can you imagine lookin' out into the audience and seein' Ms. Cook's beautiful face! Talk about bein' thrilled. And y'all will never guess who took this picture of us! Her husband and one of the theatre's most loved actors, Mr. Tom Troupe. Ms. Cook and Mr. Troupe have been affectionately referred to as the "Lunts of L.A. Theatre." Here is a little photo that I grabbed off the web for those of y'all who can't put a face with his name.
